Dr. Sylvia Primulawati Soetantyo joined the International Teachers College (ITC) at Universitas Pelita Harapan in June 2017 as a full-time lecturer. In this capacity she has delivered several subjects of teaching in educational psychology, pedagogy and school curriculum development.  In addition, she has conducted several researches on the fields of school management, curriculum, and technology application at school. 

 

Prior to coming to ITC, Dr. Sylvia served at Teachers College (TC) at Universitas PelitaHarapan as a full-time lecturer.Before joining at Universitas Pelita Harapan, Dr. Sylvia has been pursued a vast professional career in education. She has been the director of Pondok Indah Global School, Pondok Indah, South Jakarta. In this role she supervised Primary and Secondary Principal. She also has been an Educational Consultant, specialized in developing Bible-based Curriculum for Christian Bilingual Schools. Her first managerial role in educational field was becoming the head of education department of Yayasan Iman Pengharapan dan Kasih.  After getting her doctoral degree, she became the Principal of IPEKA International Christian School, Jakarta, Indonesia. At present, as a part of her ministry, Dr. Sylvia was appointed by the Indonesian Minister of Education to serve as an executive member of Badan Akreditasi Nasional Sekolah Menengah (National Accreditation Board Schools and Madrasahs) and is a member of Majelis Pendidikan Kristen Indonesia (Indonesian Christian Schools Council). 

 

Dr. Sylvia earned a bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology from the Catholic University of Atmajaya, Jakarta, Indonesia. She graduated with honor (cum laude) in 1991. Her postgraduate degrees were obtained from overseas universities in Australia and United States. Master Program was pursued at the University of Adelaide, Adelaide, South Australia. By majoring in Educational Psychology, she graduated in 1994 and was honored the degree of Master of Education Studies (M.Ed.Studies). This master program was undertaken within a scholarship scheme from ADS (Australian Development Scholarship), the Government of Australia. Meanwhile, Doctoral Program was undertaken at Pensacola Christian College, Pensacola, Florida, United States of America. She majored in Educational Administration, graduated on May 22, 2001 and honored the degree of Doctor of Education (Ed. D). 

 

Dr. Sylvia has been married to Dr. Mulyadi Noto, M.Com., CPA  for 16 years. Dr. MulyadiNoto, M.Com., CPA  is also a full-time lecturer at Universitas Pelita Harapan. Dr. Sylvia and Dr. Mulyadi have one daughter, Ashley Achsah Amaryanda. Ashley is twelve years old and pursuing Junior High School education in her second year (grade 8).
